Upgrading

#1 Post by Kidagakash85 » Thu Jul 17, 2008 3:48 pm

I'm upgrading the board today. Don't worry, I am making a backup file of the database before I do anything so that if something goes awry, our posts won't be lost. We are on version 2.0.22 right now, and there is an upgrade of 2.0.23 and 3.0. I am debating whether to do the 3.0 upgrade because I don't know if it looks super different. Anyway, so if the site has bugs or something, now you will know why.

K it's done. I just did 2.0.23 because 3.0 looks weird and confusing. 2.0.23 gave us all the security updates we needed and such, so whoo. :)

Hmm... registration form works? Or new users still must ask a special link?

Why do we need to upgrade the board to the next version, when basics options not works? Security, OK. Really matters. But, if we'll dont have a normal register form, there will be nothing to keep :(
Maybe, i'll search for a web-programmist to find a solution?

Well, this was the only option I could find. The join form WORKS, I've just disabled it. We have had extremely bad problems with spammers, trollers and phishers. I have tried to make the join form as accessable as possible. Do you know of anyone who has tried to join the forum who hasn't been able to? I would be happy to set them up with an account.

hmm... so, if it's the only one solution, we better think about invitations for a new users. I'll post some at friend's forum.

If you post at other forums, feel free to give them the direct link to the join form:

That way they won't have to go looking around for it. :)
