One year later | December 31, 2013 | 1:03 PM

I'm feeling nostalgic today because it was one year ago today that I photographed and made the first four pages of Issue 1 of FGF. It was pouring down rain that day—the first rain of the season in the midst of a drought—and I raced out, Barbie jeep in tow, to photograph Jackson and his mom driving on the rainy freeway that was actually my sopping wet front porch. XD I spent the whole night working on panel after panel, as my family got more and more annoyed that I was wasting New Year's Eve glued to my computer, lol.

At that time, I was hoping I'd be able to post the first issue by March or April, and I was very disappointed that life interfered and pushed the release back so far. I'm just so happy I was finally able to share this comic with all of you, and I hope that you'll stick with Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculaura and the rest on the journey to come! :-) Happy New Year!

* The actual first page for the series I made back on December 2, 2012—but I can't share that with you yet, as it's a page for a later issue ;-)

Wishlist updates | December 27, 2013 | 2:21 PM

A couple of new wishlist items today...

Swim Class Holt Hyde: This has been on my wishlist for awhile, but it was a low-priority item because the promo photos of him showed him with the same arms as the original release doll. However, today I saw a fan photo of him in the box and realized that he does actually have jointed arms. I could really use a Holt (and a Clawd, for that matter)* with jointed arms. Trying to pose them without jointed wrists is the most frustrating thing in the universe.

Unfortunately, it looks like this Holt came out at Justice over the summer, while I was in the midst of a major move, so I completely missed the memo (I thought he still wasn't out yet). So if anyone can help me get this Holt (or at least his arms!) for a reasonable price, I'd really appreciate it!

Dawn of the Dance Deuce Sunglasses: My sister and I were finishing unpacking the last of our Monster High dolls the other day, and we discovered Dawn of the Dance Deuce's glasses had broken in half. So I decided to superglue them, and I idiotically pulled out not the NEW tube of superglue, but an old (and unbeknownst to me) clogged up tube, and when I squeezed the tube the glue exploded all over my hands, the countertop and, oh yeah, the glasses.

Then, as I screamed and tried in vain to rinse it off, it started drying white, so there were huge white blotches all over the glasses.

Then my mom said, "Take it off with nail polish remover," which seemed to sort of work and sort of smear it around more, but I thought I'd Hang In There™ and keep at it until the glue came off all the way, only to realize after, like, an hour of scrubbing that the nail polish remover was eating away at the plastic.

So I now have a pair of broken-in-half, paint-came-off-even-if-the-glue-didn't, partially-disintegrated Dawn of the Dance Deuce sunglasses. And glue all over my fingers.

Is there anyone out there who might be willing to help me replace the glasses? Maybe you have a DotD Deuce and you don't really care to keep him shaded or something? I'm willing to pay a reasonable price (idk, $10 or so? Whatever sounds fair, I don't really know the going rate for accessories) for them + shipping. Thank you!

* got lower arms for Clawd off Mattel's customer service site, whoo! I still need arms for Holt, though. I would prefer the whole Swim Class doll because I also like his outfit and have very few clothes for Holt.
