The girl: Goombella is a sassy female Goomba, currently in her second year at the University of Goom in Rogueport, studying for her degree in archaeology (same as me! ...Sort of). She first meets Mario when he arrives at the docks in Rogueport, and quickly joins him on his quest to uncover the secret of the Thousand Year Door. Goombella is very well-read, and is filled with vital information that helps Mario on his quest. She also introduces Mario to her archaeology teacher, Professor Frankly, who has extensively researched the Legend of the Thousand Year Door. I chose the name of this fanlisting, "Attitude," because I felt it was a word that truly captured Goombella's personality. She is spunky and sassy, and always speaks her mind. Her manner of speaking is hilarious, but at the same time, believable and endearing. The game: Paper Mario 2--The Thousand Year Door is an excellent adventure-RPG for the GameCube with a unique, "paper"-themed gameplay, instantly lovable characters, and witty dialogue. It is the sequel to the Nintendo 64 game, Paper Mario. This wonderful adventure tells the story of a legendary lost civilization and a mysterious treasure, hidden behind the Thousand Year Door. The story begins when Princess Peach uncovers an ancient map in the Rogueport Marketplace, which she sends to Mario, requesting that he help her find the treasure. However, evil forces also desire the treasure, and they kidnap Princess Peach. Now Mario must rescue the Princess and locate the seven Crystal Stars in order to discover the secret of the Thousand Year Door. The fanlistings: Some of you may be curious as to what exactly a fanlisting is. The basic definition, from TheFanlistings, is a list of fans of a certain thing from all over the world. The goal of this fanlisting is to form friendships between very different people from very different places through their common fandom--in this case, the character Goombella from Paper Mario 2. |
