Barfy and parents

Cool blog. Don't let women, like that group that hit on you, bother you. Don't let Mr. Lawrence Barfell get to you either. Why, I'm a very serious student, and I have a whole apartment full of free books on linguistics, ancient civilizations, and foreign languages! Perhaps he does think it's a big j...

And here's what it means for us:

We can hold actual, simple conversations in Atlantean if we just work on it for a bit. It's not that hard, once you start.

Share with me a sentence that you make up. I won't correct it or anything. The smallest effort makes a difference.

Shucks. It's not really me, it's a host of about 150 amateur linguists working over 6 years (and running). I hope to make ancient languages and the history they tell more accessable to regular people during the course of my education and career. I also hope to encourage young people like us to becom...

Did your dad try to publish a book on Klingon? There's a huge difference between Klingon and Atlantean. Basically, Klingon's suppose to be a warrior's language that's completely unlike anything on earth. Atlantean is a utopia's language that's shares similarities with all word languages. GAHKH 'chee...

I saw that movie last week, it was pretty wierd. Very film noire. Shady detective gets involved with mysterious people who end up being on some globe-trotting goose-chase for a priceless historical artifact. It shares some plot motifs with Atlantis: The Lost Empire. The whole back story about the di...

I guess I collect books on languages and history now. Books from the ATLE marketing-blitz most definitely. I used to be a big collector. Mighty Max toys, Goosebumps books, and then Spawn and Star Wars action figures were some of my biggies. Has anybody ever seen that episode of Batman Beyond where T...

YOO-teh-pohs LUK-luhg Lesson Sixth

7-9-2007 Monday Afternoon YOO-teh-pohs LUK-luhg Lesson of-Six First, some big news: I finally found Paul Sherrill and he made me moderator of The Atlantean Language Group, the Yahoo Tech Group devoted to Atlantean’s discipherment. Paul’s about our age. He’s a linguistic prodigee who the paper trail ...

One additional, more sobering note: Tim Montgomery's "The Disney Informer" is completely offline. Disney sued him or something. I think I'm going to have to be very careful in trying to get my book published. I've never published anything, but my mom tried. It seems hard. Oh well. But I'm ...

 I got off my dig a week ago last Saturday. I stopped by my parents' on the way out to my university --- and as of next Saturday, it'll be a 2 week visit! The internet's slow here and there's been much cleaning, so there hasn't been any Atlantean yet. Things will improve when I return to academ...

Apparently, I'm most like Sweet. I was hoping for Milo. It's cool that they had "Maltese Falcon" in there as a choice of movie. Why, that film as a VHS is in this very room. "What is it?" "That's the stuff that dreams are made of." Heh, heh.

More lessons after Monday August 6th

SOO-puhk, TEH-wuhn-toap! For sure I'll have free time to give more lessons come August 6th. I'm going to get paid to stay an extra four weeks after field school and (presumably) re-bag artifacts and the like. So it'll be a bit longer. For Kidagakash: I'm in Cold Spring, New York for the dig. In fact...

Yeah, that's cool, guys. I'm really busy too now with finals until about the 7th of May. The week of the 7th I should put up some more stuff and be available for chats in Atlantean or whatever. But the week of the 14th is going to put me on an archaeological dig (a treat for the amateur archaeolingu...

YOO-teh-pohs SHAHD-luhg TEH-nit-leh-toat

YOO-teh-pohs SHAHD-luhg TEH-nit-leh-toat Lesson 5 Continued The Distributive Suffix This one comes up once in the movie, too. Distributive numerals “distributes” or “deals out” how many of a thing should go to each person, box, whatever. As TAH-neb-mil KEE-duh, TAH-neb KAH-sheh-kihm, and TAH-neb “MA...
