thats understandable, a good movie to watch is the 2 hour Zeit Gueist Movie, it basicly tells the truth about alot of stuff, 1 of which is about the government and stuff.

Okay =)

So, this celebration has a very big historical importance, but in passed years of USSR there was too much attention to this day. And we cant say anything new about this day, we cant make a real good celebration concert: it could be a clone in USSR style, nobody interested in that, or smth more interesting. But more interesting doesnt mean better: no volonteers to do that job. In the shaking with the FULL ABSENSE of respect to defending duty between the students it cant give a good result.

But i and another guys, our commanders and etc. allways managing that. That show wasnt wonderful and impressive, it was normal. As it must be, because it's not a just a day of fun, it's a day of sorrow too, (for me) because there is no army that birthday we celebrate... this celebration now calling "The day of Motherland Defender" but i prefer to know it as it really is.

We get some modern style things and songs, but as allways we do, we included a lot of classic things like "Chornaya noch" and etc. You know, im dont think that this was beautiful as show. It s beautiful in that sense, that you are part of all it, you are defender too. You got a contract not with your goverment, you got a duty for your nation. And no matter what situation will be. I must, and i will. There is the celebration REAL sense, however, there is less and less people who can feel it.

Red Army was strong and powerful. All great country was working to make the soldier armed and dressed. Now it's not, and it's making more responsibility to all soldiers, how to manage it and how to resurrect the great empire. And... strange thing. There was some goverment critics from a tribine, from a scene! It wasnt a revo or smth else calling, but it was a calling to think(!) about your role in all of that.

The real meaning of all this - it's time do make your country better, enough to prepare yourself for running outside the boarder.
That was the things we are talking about in the celebration as fron the scene, as in private chattings). I hope, you are understended the meaning of it. Isnt you?

btw, America have the same day? =))

indeed i do understand it. i think it means alot more to the people who served in those times. V.S the younger people who have never been in true combat or at war. And yes we have a day where we all celebrate our independence, it's te 4th of July, a nightly firework show. it's pretty nice. There is this factor of over doing stuff which i think might have been the cause over there. people tend to go on the war-path, if they are too patriotic, and there is nothing wrong with that, it's just people have this idea to try and get more out of something then there really is. it also can ruin it for other people as well. Myself i am not the war kind, because i see the trueness behind our government. causing disasters like 9/11 and such to spark a war, and then feed income off of it. just like with Pearl Harbor, we cut of trades and pissed them off, and we knew we where going to be attacked 3 weeks in advance. our government is nothing but true evil in the eyes of many. It's truly sad, and our government is not the only one doing this. it explains everything in that movie link i sent you. Anyway i hope you did have some fun.

Whoa, happy birthday! I turned 24 last Friday, Sept. 3. I try to make the most of it, because I read that as you get older, you can't get as many things done in a day.
