There is a new art book out called The Art of the Disney Princess, and according to what I've heard from people who have seen it, Kida makes an appearance! I really want to see this, hopefully it's a good picture!! I will post a scan if I manage to find one somewhere. :-)

I got a scan! Thanks to princealia from Livejournal!

I had to brighten it significantly because I could barely see it on my monitor. If this looks too light to you, check out the original here.

What do you think? I love it!

Sweet! You would be surprised how many different ATLE books there are... Also i found out the main reason she is excluded from the rest of the Princess Line: Get this:

The story didn't really focus on her, per say, mainly the survival of an entire race (even tho she is part of it) the story was mainly about finding Atlantis, and then realizing they have to save it. Kida's Family/Herself/Love Interest/Drama really doesn't play a huge rule in the movie, (even tho she does become Queen at the end. They also make no reference to Milo becoming Royal, let alone a King per-say, there is also no true mentioning to Kida becoming engaged with him. You can see how this does have a reverse effect on all the other Disney Princesses. (even tho some of them aren't even real princesses. I.E: Princess = Royal Daughter of the Queen. (Royal Dependence being the key factor.) Even tho Kida is in fact Royal, and even becomes a Queen, the story doesn't talk much about her as all the other movies do.

Something else that's funny, even tho Disney claims this all to be true, and that's their sole reason, they sold a ton of different ATLE Books/Toys/Ect didn't they?

WTFFFFFF

And I suppose the same thing applies to Eilonwy?

And I suppose that Disney contends that it has nothing to do with the fact that the movie wasn't financially ~successful~ enough for them?

Well in that case, people can STFU about them not including someone obscure like Princess Tiger Lily who was in her movie for like 10 minutes max.

Oh well. I'm just happy to see Kida getting more of a mention! Her presence in this book is a big deal to me. :D

Oddly, underrated things get their time to outshine those things that are over rated, and popular. Kinda funny really, when i have one of the largest collection of ATLE-Based stuff that i know of... and for a movie that is so underrated, they sure sold alot of different stuff...

I think that's a cheap excuse. Aladdin wasn't a story about Jasmine and Mulan isn't even a princess, so they don't sell me with that one bit. I believe the main reason is that it wasn't so financially successful (and IDK why BTW), it was a very well done movie.
