When Alfie and Piper first meet, Alfie mistakes her for her twin, Patricia. He is taken aback by her friendly and easygoing nature, which is in stark contrast to Patricia's characteristic sarcasm. Likewise, Piper is immediately drawn to Alfie, declaring him "the nicest guy [she has] ever met," and even going so far as to admit that she likes him to her sister when Patricia tries to convince her to pretend to be her and go out on a fake date with her own boyfriend, Eddie. Alfie, meanwhile, finds himself confused, believing her to be Patricia and wondering if Patricia has been "the one" all along.

When Piper's identity is revealed, Alfie immediately tries to make his move. Piper initially plans to remain at Anubis House, and the two bond as she practices piano in the student lounge. Piper shares that she felt overwhelmingly pressured at the Academy to live up to her reputation as a prodigy; Alfie admits that he, on the other hand, feels that no one recognizes his own talent. After a pep talk from Patricia, and the gift of a 10 of Hearts card from Alfie, Piper begins to feel inspired.

Later, she confesses to Alfie that being around him has given her perspective, and made her passionate about music again. She decides to leave Anubis House and go back to the academy. Alfie begs her not to go, and Piper confesses that she likes him. He asks her why she's going, then. She tells him she prefers to think of it as "coming back later." The two share a kiss and she leaves— but not before telling him that she recognizes his talent. Even though this seems to spell the end of "Pilfie," fans believe the bond they shared is one that will last; and we can only hope that, one day, Piper and Alfie will meet again.
