Noble Scarlet is the angel bonded to Skuld, the youngest of the sister goddesses in Ah! Megami-sama. Although she is smaller and less powerful than the other angels in the series, she makes up for her size with her spunk and personality. Her bond with Skuld is incredibly strong, and Noble Scarlet would do anything for her precious other half, even sacrifice her own existence so that Skuld could be with the boy she likes. It is this bond that allows Noble Scarlet to grow in strength and eventually always walk together with her goddess.

Ah! Megami-sama (Oh My Goddess!) is a popular manga series that has been adapted into an anime miniseries, movie, and finally a standard anime series. It follows the goddess Belldandy, who is sent to Earth to grant the wish of college student Keiichi Morisato. Keiichi wishes for a goddess like Belldandy to be with him always, not knowing that his wish was bigger than either of them could have realized. The manga/anime follows their relationship as they become closer to each other.

Along the way, the pair is joined by a number of otherworldly companions, including Belldandy's older sister, Urd, who is constantly trying to push Belldandy and Keiichi together; and her younger sister Skuld, who would rather drive the pair apart and keep her big sister to herself.
