What's New? The Atlantis Newsletter

May 30, 2011: The tenth anniversary of Atlantis: The Lost Empire is in just four days! In anticipation, I have created a new page for the site: Ten Years Later. There you can find info about all the upcoming events associated with the Tenth Anniversary! After the events are over, I'll update with highlights. I'll also be sure to update if Disney does anything official to tie in with the anniversary this year. :-)

April 11, 2011: The Disney-Atlantis-Club on DeviantArt is hosting a fanart contest in honor of A:TLE's tenth anniversary! I hope you will all consider entering! Here is the information:

Who can enter? ANYONE (you don't have to be a member of this group)
Deadline? the 3rd of June 2011 (the release date of A:TLE)
What? fan art, fan fiction, cosplay, etc.
Theme? 10 years of A:TLE e.g. it's been 10 years after the crew discovered Atlantis. What happened in those 10 years? What are they doing now? Or you could see the character as 'actors': what do they think of the movie? Did they have fun making it? Be creative!
Prizes? more information soon ;-D there will be prizes

PLEASE SUBMIT IN THE RIGHT FOLDER

Prizes? more information soon ;-D there will be prizes
Of course, a simple contest isn't enough to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this amazing movie! :D don't worry we have other plans too, but new ideas are still welcome.
We hope that many of you will enter :D and we'd appreciate it if you spread the word

I'm hoping to plan many more events related to the tenth anniversary, so look forward to updates here with more information!

January 18, 2011: Whoa, there! You mean I didn't update in 2010 at all? How did a year go by so fast?! Sorry everyone. I am still here, though! I hope I didn't have you worried. A few small updates today, mostly new and updated links on the links page. 2011 is sure to be a big year for Atlantis, though, as this is both the 10th anniversary of the movie's release AND the opening of this site!! I can't even believe it, 10 years! So be sure to keep an eye on the site for more updates! :-)

September 30, 2009: I added an adorable new fanart! Also, Geocities is closing in less than a month, which means that a lot of great A:TLE fansites will disappear. However, I got permission from Rebmakash to archive the largest and greatest of these so that it isn't lost forever. You can now find an archived version of The City of Atlantis here. This version is unaltered from its original Geocities form. If Rebmakash ever wants to take the site back over, of course she can, but for now, at least fans can still access this excellent resource.

July 10, 2009: I made updates to all the pages of the site, mostly superficial but I think everything should look cleaner and run smoother now. More soon!

April 2, 2009: I updated the links section. I think I'm going to do some more major work on the site over the next couple of days. :-)

February 21, 2009: Added two new fanarts by Raven Stormwind to the gallery! Also, my several-years-in-the-works update to The Dark Ones is now up at Fanfiction.net. This newer version has a number of corrections and additions that I think make the story much more enjoyable. :-)

September 28, 2008: I feel like I just updated this site. I don't know where a year goes. Anyway, there is a new Milo + Kida fanlisting! So I updated the link on the sidebar. I think I'm going to do a slight upgrading and switch the site to PHP so that if I need to make changes like that again, I'll only need to change one file instead of 20. Haha. I also need to update the links section, so I will try to get those updates done in the next few days. EDIT: Conversion to PHP is complete! :-)

September 17, 2007: Well, I'm done migrating from Photo Blvd, so all the fanart in the gallery should be working now! Please let me know if anything isn't loading. As always, just get in touch with me if you have anything you'd like to submit, and hopefully we'll have some new stuff hereabouts relatively soon! Also, just a note--KFU has recently undergone a member boom, and we're having a lot of discussion now! This would be a good time for you to join the forum and join in the fun! Just a reminder, open registration is closed due to spam/troll members, so if you want to become a member, you need to fill out this form rather than clicking "register," or it won't work!

August 12, 2007: Wow, has it really been over a year since I updated? Sorry, guys! I didn't really have much to add by way of updates, haha. Well, I have stuff now! So here's what's new. First of all, two gorgeous new fanarts by Nedak! Also, the spiffiest new link ever--for those of you who visit KFU, you know that our own Keran_Shadlag has cracked the Atlantean language. Yes, THE Atlantean language! He's been giving comprehensive language lessons here, and now he has a website up to help further that purpose! You can find the link in the Links section, of course.

There are a few more updates I'm planning in the next several days. The pics in the fanart section appear to not be loading, so I'm biting the bullet and finally uploading the pics to my actual domain. ZOMG! My laziness can be humored no further. Also, I deleted several dead links, and I think I may give the links section an overhaul. The "5th anniversary" edition of "The Dark Ones" is a bit later than promised...by like a year...although, it technically wasn't the 5th anniversary until 6 months ago, so I'm only half a year late! *cries* I did completely rewrite chapter 7 and post in on FF.net, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. The rest is just minor spelling and grammar fixes, a combined chapter, and a slight re-write of Orion's scenes. I hope you will appreciate these changes when I post them!

Lastly, I'd love to see new content on the site! If you have any suggestions, links, fanarts, fics (either those you've written or those you've read and would like to see featured), please contact me! More soon, Atlanteans!

July 25, 2006: Hello, everyone! Today is the fifth anniversary of this website's opening! I'm very proud that we've made it this far. As mentioned on the Site History page, this is the oldest Atlantis fansite that is still functioning and updated fairly consistently. While we've had ups and downs, I'm pleased that this site is where it is today. While a busy real-life schedule has prevented me from spending as much time as I'd like on this site in recent months, I hope that I will be able to maintain this site and help it flourish for another five years. Hooray Atlantis!

So, in honor of the site's birthday, I have a few goodies in the works. The first of these is an Atlantean Aging Guide, which has a formula I developed to help calculate any Atlantean's "normal" age. Hopefully, this will be helpful for fanfic writers and the like. And, speaking of fanfics, I'm working on the 5th-Anniversary Edition of "The Dark Ones," which hopefully will be up in the next week. I also hope to be getting more fanart in the next few days, so look forward to a grand Atlantis anniversary week!

July 2, 2006: A few updates hereabouts! We have some new fanart in the fanart section, go check it out! It's lovely. ^_^ Also, KFU is back up and running, but the old members and posts have been lost. Please consider joining our community and helping it flourish again! We'd love to have you! Also, I'm planning on updating and refining "The Dark Ones" for the fifth anniversary of the site. Look forward to it!

June 5, 2006: We've moved! I had it with my stupid old host, so I got a new domain with a great new host. I've updated the site history and all the other pages with the correct links.

January 6, 2006: Well, after several months of downtime, we're back! Sorry it took so long, guys; as I'm sure you can all guess, this is my biggest fansite, and the last few months have been my first semester at university, so I've been really busy. The condensed version of what happened is that the server my domain is hosted on commited suicide in mid-July and deleted everything I had (over 30 fanlistings, not to mention my sister's) and didn't go back up until a few days before I moved out. So that's why the site's been down. It seems it's been down more than it's been up the past few months, for which I apologize.

In case you didn't notice, the layout of the site is very much different than it has been for the last 3+ years! Frankly, I was sick and tired of the old layout; it was my first site, made using a site builder on a free host, and it very much looked it. Therefore, I completely re-did it, and I think it looks a lot better! Those startled by the new appearance need not fear--although it may look different, the content is still the same! And in any case...we're back! Let's hope 2006 will be a good year for Atlantis!
